I was dreading this morning’s race because I haven’t been running. It’s a “fun run,” but I still wanted to do my best. It was cold, but sunny. Despite the low temperature, there were a lot of people. It’s encouraging to see more (presumably) veg participants each year. And it’s always a treat to see so many dogs. We saw a golden retriever galloping through the parking lot because he was so excited to run.
Because of my running hiatus, I started at a slow pace. After a mile, I started walking on and off. I ended up walking quite a bit, so definitely no PRs today, but it still feels good to continue this Thanksgiving Day tradition. This was my sixth Tofurky Trot and I will keep attending (even if I have to walk the whole distance) as long as they exist.
