Olympic Peninsula Bike Tour – Day 2: Port Angeles

We had originally planned to cycle up Hurricane Ridge, but we were too sore from yesterday’s ordeal, so we decided to just leisurely explore Port Angeles. Upon leaving the Airbnb, we were amazed to see three deer crossing the street. We walked “downtown” and ate breakfast at New Day Eatery. I ordered The Vegan & Gluten-Free Chocolate Waffle with coconut maple syrup. Tom at Bike Garage was very helpful planning our route. We ate lunch at Turnip the Beet. I ordered the Veggie-fest wrap. Eating vegetables was satisfying after consuming only highly-processed snacks yesterday. We rented a car at Avis and drove to Ediz Hook–a three-mile sand spit. We found some geocaches and then drove to Country Aire Market, where we were pleasantly surprised to see a dedicated vegan section. We bought Tasty Bites, Garden of Eatin’ mini yellow tortilla chips, and Alternative Baking Company cookies for dinner. We also bought bread, peanut butter, and jelly to make sandwiches for coming days. We returned to the Airbnb and settled in early–we’re still tired from yesterday.
